Taking a Look at the Year Ahead

We are excited for the arrival of 2025 and all that this year may bring.

There are some fun trends that we are already seeing, and we wanted to list out a few of our favourites that we are looking forward to. Keep an eye on the store this year to see what new and exciting products are hitting the shelves!

01. Embellishment 

This trend is all about personalization and individuality. This can be achieved by upcycling thrifted pieces, building character in your look with unique items, maximalism in your home and wardrobe, experimenting with texture, and doing the unexpected.
 
Looking at home decor, you can expect more personalization. This year will see ruffled pillows and bedding, trimmed-out table linens, drapes, home textiles embroidered with cheeky phrases, and embellished lampshades.
 
Turning our attention to fashion, we’ll see embroidered details everywhere from little icons and shapes to borders and trims. Long fringe trims on skirts and jackets. Contrasting collars of lace, crochet, or bold printed fabrics. The bow, charm, and brooch trends will be joined by vintage and unique buttons, fringes, patches, and pins to adorn clothing. They will be on everything from ballcaps and purses to blazers and tennis shoes.
 
Colour Palette: Gold and metallics paired with mid-century-inspired hues like robin egg blue, olive, salmon, butter yellow, brown, and teal.

02. Pattern Play

Get ready for bold colours, fun palettes, and punchy prints that create a feeling of joy and optimism. Clean minimalist stripes lean maximalist when done in bold and daring colour combinations. Again – the goal is a unique and extremely personal look!
 
In home decor, this trend is coming through in the resurgence of wallpaper that has lots of vintage 80s and 90s-inspired looks with florals. Textiles will also get this makeover. We may also see patterns and motifs on ceramics and serving ware. We are also excited for bold light shades as well as colour blocking, scallops, and geometric shapes in wall paint applications, especially around door frames and light switches. Additionally, there’ll be lots of stripes either painted or papered onto walls.
 
In fashion, stripes will also be a huge trend alongside ginghams, animal prints, and florals. Tops, blouses, pants, dresses, outerwear, and accessories – nothing is safe from this! 90s-inspired pinstripes are here but also bold and bright stripes reminiscent of a seaside village.
 
Colour Palette: Bright and bold. The full spectrum of primary, secondary, and pastels. Colours used in pairs; pink + red, lilac + peach, and sky blue + orange red.

03. From Another Era

We are excited for the opulence of a bygone era. It’s giving high-quality, handcrafted, luxe, and heirloom quality. This feels like a natural progression of the preloved and thrifted trend, moving towards older, more formal, and hard-to-find pieces. Luxury in a time of fast fashion and overconsumption. 
 
We’ve loved the emergence of vintage 80s-inspired earrings, and we’re only seeing this trend grow. Lockets, vintage style and dainty watches, filigree, and cameo pieces inspired by the 1920s – 1960s lend an heirloom quality to any look. 
 
In fashion, tapestry, jacquard, and brocade fabrics in antique floral prints have the feel of another time, and we expect to see more opulent fabrics like lace, silk, suede, leather, and burnout velvet. We saw a resurgence of the corset in 2024 and expect to see more of these vintage silhouettes. It’s very much a natural progression of the 90s trend.
 
In interior design, these fabrics find their way into upholstery while walls, ceilings, and woodwork are drenched in deep jewel tones and tone-on-tone colorways. Dark academia vibes, collections on display, upholstered furniture, heavy drapes, and ornate framed artwork.
 
Colour Palette: Deep neutrals and moody hues. Think maroon, plum, chocolate, navy, emerald green, and gold.
