Team Lead (Permanent, Full Time)

At a Glance: The Team Lead is a full-time, permanent, key-holder role. This position is responsible for opening and closing the shop, oversees daily operations, and is the primary point of contact for sales associates, directing work to ensure all tasks are completed and solving issues as they arise. We are seeking someone to join our team long-term.

The Details: This customer facing role involves extensive customer interaction and requires a high degree of service in support of our customers and sales associates. In addition to opening and closing tasks, this leadership role oversees the smooth operations of the store including workflow management, inventory management, receiving, store maintenance, and cleaning. As the primary point of contact between our Sales Associates and Office Staff, this role is responsible for ongoing clear and concise communication, direction, and feedback and works to identify opportunities and needs with regards to store policies, operational needs,
inventory levels, and promotional activities.

Far + Wide focuses on handpicked beautiful, and often local, items for your home. We care about the products we stock and our customers do too; we are looking for someone who shares this passion for aesthetic, community, and small business. Our team works closely
together to ensure the shops runs smoothly. From taking out the trash, to grabbing the door for a customer, to mopping the floor, we all chip in to ensure the work gets done.

As part of this team, we are looking for someone who not only compliments our current team and can take direction, but can also work well independently and take the initiative to recognize when something needs doing without being asked.

What We Are Looking For: This role requires a friendly, outgoing, and approachable demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, and high level of organization and attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work is essential, as is a desire to go above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service.

We are seeking someone with a strong background in customer service, preferably in a retail setting, as well as previous key holder, leadership, and cash management experience. Within this role the successful candidate will be asked to give and receive feedback constructively, act proactively with good judgement and reasoning, and work independently. Experience working with our caring for houseplants is an asset, as is experience with MS Office Suite, Gmail, Mailchimp, Canva, and social media platforms.

Schedule + Compensation: This position involves 36 hours per week on a Sunday – Thursday schedule. From time to time an evening or weekend shift may be required as vacation coverage and seasonal variances demand.

Full medical and dental benefits are provided as well as a staff discount and flexibility for time off. The hourly rate is $19.00 to $22.00 and is reviewed annually.

At a Glance: We have an upcoming opening for a Sales Associate – Key Holder position. We are seeking someone to join our team long-term with the potential for full time hours, as coverage needs dictate, once they are comfortable in the role.

The Details: As the first point of contact for customers, this role involves providing exceptional customer service as well as help behind the scenes receiving, pricing, and stocking items. Additionally, you will help keep the shop clean and organized.

Our team works closely together to ensure the shop runs smoothly, from taking out the trash to grabbing the door for a customer, to mopping the floor, we all chip in to ensure the work gets done. As part of this team, we are looking for someone who not only compliments our current team and can take direction, but can also work well independently and take the initiative to recognize when something needs doing without being asked.
