In 2026 We're Planting Dahlias
There are so many reasons to love Dahlias. They are easy to grow and thrive in our hot summer climate. Most varieties are very productive, putting out blooms from late July until the first frost, usually in October. They come in a range of colours and shapes and sizes. They grow from a tuber, which multiply during the growing season - as long as they're dug up after that first frost and stored properly over winter one tuber can become a handful for next season!
For 2026 we are excited to have dahlia tubers available in the shop. Sold in mixed packs, each package contains one tuber each of three unique varieties. Locally grown, these dahlias are a mix of popular and sought after varieties at an accessible price.
Each pack of three includes the names of the dahlias it contains and we've compiled those below for reference (although they're all winners in our books!).

Love surprises? Grab your dahlias online now and we'll pick out the best mixed pack for you! Available for in-store pickup and shipping.
Dahlia Planting Tips:
After winter storage Dahlia tubers may appear wrinkled or discoloured. All tubers have been inspected to ensure they are fully intact including at least one eye - most have already pre-sprouted.
Plant tubers in late spring when all danger of frost has past. Choose a spot with well draining soil where they will receive full sun (6+ hours). Lay tubers horizontally with the eye/sprout facing up, 4-6" deep. Space tubers 18" apart.
Avoid over watering. Wait until green shoots appear then water weekly.
Dahlias benefit from staking to support their long stems and regular fertilization throughout the season.
Once the growing season ends, after the first frost, carefully remove dahlia tubers from the ground. Let tubers cure in a cool, dry place for 24-48 hours before storing.
